We've had a busy week here at Clemons and it's only Tuesday. It was good to see the kids play soccer these past few days. They played hard despite the heat this afternoon. Now that the soccer season is over we can rest some. Basketball season does not start for a few weeks. We'll start to get in shape so that we can be ready and hopefully have a successful season. A reminder that on Thursday we have an early out from school. Enjoy your night and see you tomorrow :)

Wednesday, September 12, 2012

It was great to see so many parents and students yesterday night. Everyone brought really good food. I spent a good amount of time at school tonight getting caught up on grading and all of that fun stuff. Next Thursday are parent teacher conferences. A slip will be going home tomorrow that will have your conference time written on it. All missing work is due to me by next Wednesday in order for it to be counted in the grade book.

In other news. My parents are going to be visiting State Center next weekend. My dad has a telescope and wants to have a star party. Look forward to news about that tomorrow. It will either be Thursday after conferences or on Friday night. I hope to see you there!

Good luck to the soccer team tomorrow. Make sure to use your time wisely in class so that you don't have any homework to do after the game.

7th Grade has been learning about the 5 themes of geography. One of the themes is location. They were to create a project that shows where they are located in the Earth. We started with our cover page, then we put that we live on the Earth. Next came our continent. After that we showed we live in the United States. Next, we drew the state of Iowa. Then we drew our city and finally completed it with our house. The students did a good job on this project and I was proud of how they turned out.

We have some new additions to our classroom. I have been working hard to get some new decorations and things to our classroom. My mom and sister made a little tent for us to hang in the room. It is something that we can use during reading time where we can go and sit and read quietly. I am hoping to get a bean bag or a small chair to put in there. If anyone has an extra one or knows someone who has an extra that would be greatly appreciated :)

I was also glad that my parents were able to come and visit as well. We enjoyed a nice potluck after church as well. It's great to know there is a lot of support behind my work too. Day number one was a success. We started off the day with getting everything organized in the classroom. Then we went to chapel. We got to meet our chapel families today and see a lot of new faces as well as parents there. We got to take a long recess break today, which was great since the weather was so nice. A game was played using toilet paper. Facts had to be said for each piece of toilet paper that was taken. Some people had to share lots, others did not have to share as much. I was able to share a lot about myself with the students. In class we are going to be reading a book out loud the book that was chosen was Sideways Stories from Wayside School. The day was ended with playing some Disney Scene it. There will be no homework for tomorrow. But they can start reviewing memory for next Tuesday. The first 13 books of the Bible.

Wednesday, August 15, 2012

School starts tomorrow! I think that everything is in place and good to go. I have back up things to do in case I am way off schedule and need things to do. I know that God will bless us this school year and help us to learn a lot and to have a great school year!

Tuesday, August 14, 2012

School starts on Thursday! I am getting closer and closer each day to being ready to go. The first few days won't be so bad as we are just going to have some fun and get to know each other. I got book orders all set up today and I am super excited about those! I have also received my name plate which means I am officially a teacher now! :)

Sunday, August 5, 2012

Making progress in the classroom. I like how things are starting to take shape. A few more days until the white board and the coat racks get hung. In need of reading posters for the reading corner. Hopefully I'll find some soon.
