We've had a busy week here at Clemons and it's only Tuesday. It was good to see the kids play soccer these past few days. They played hard despite the heat this afternoon. Now that the soccer season is over we can rest some. Basketball season does not start for a few weeks. We'll start to get in shape so that we can be ready and hopefully have a successful season. A reminder that on Thursday we have an early out from school. Enjoy your night and see you tomorrow :)

It was great to see so many parents and students yesterday night. Everyone brought really good food. I spent a good amount of time at school tonight getting caught up on grading and all of that fun stuff. Next Thursday are parent teacher conferences. A slip will be going home tomorrow that will have your conference time written on it. All missing work is due to me by next Wednesday in order for it to be counted in the grade book.

In other news. My parents are going to be visiting State Center next weekend. My dad has a telescope and wants to have a star party. Look forward to news about that tomorrow. It will either be Thursday after conferences or on Friday night. I hope to see you there!

Good luck to the soccer team tomorrow. Make sure to use your time wisely in class so that you don't have any homework to do after the game.

7th Grade has been learning about the 5 themes of geography. One of the themes is location. They were to create a project that shows where they are located in the Earth. We started with our cover page, then we put that we live on the Earth. Next came our continent. After that we showed we live in the United States. Next, we drew the state of Iowa. Then we drew our city and finally completed it with our house. The students did a good job on this project and I was proud of how they turned out.

We have some new additions to our classroom. I have been working hard to get some new decorations and things to our classroom. My mom and sister made a little tent for us to hang in the room. It is something that we can use during reading time where we can go and sit and read quietly. I am hoping to get a bean bag or a small chair to put in there. If anyone has an extra one or knows someone who has an extra that would be greatly appreciated :)
